Unfortunately, the pandemic isn’t going away anytime soon. Here are some ways to keep stress at bay for your employees and for yourself.
Take Care of Yourself
As the head of your business’ operations, when you go down, so does everyone else. It’s essential that you’re taking care of yourself so that you’re equipped with the energy and resources to support your employees.
Taking care of yourself could mean anything from routine self-care to simply giving yourself extra time on the weekends to do the things you love. Here are some simple ways to take care of yourself everyday:
- Get enough sleep
- Maintain a healthy diet
- Exercise for 30-60 minutes each day
- Take in the fresh air
- Step away from the devices
Take Care of Your Employees
Like yourself, your employees are an essential part of your business, Their health is your business’ health! While team bonding experiences are limited, the opportunity to maintain positive relationships isn’t gone. Whether it’s a simple text or a quick conversation in the office (masks on of course), checking in on your employees and assessing their needs as the holiday progresses is important.
As the holidays roll around, remind your employees of the following:
- Take a break! You deserve it.
- Follow CDC guidelines around holiday gatherings.
- Do what you have to do to stay healthy.
- Let me know if you need anything!
Give Grace and Be the Change
Holiday season is always a stressful time, but this year the pressure is really on with increased challenges at work and home. Give yourself and your employees some grace. If you’re not sure what that means, grace is the proactive acceptance, love and caring for one another – or undeserved kindness. You never know what is going on behind the scenes and giving someone unmerited grace may be just what is needed to help us all make it through the rest of this year. Be the change you wish to see in the world this holiday season.
