I love 3 day weekends. Normally I enjoy them since it’s an extra day at home with the family, but as an added bonus this weekend I also get to get some more work done on the Comprehensive Course. Even though my eyes glaze over on some of the more dry topics, I really enjoy the overall process of acquiring knowledge. I really like it when I run into something new and am starting to get really comfortable with the current individual tax landscape. Since this course focuses on the preparation of basic tax returns, the more complicated tax topics are mentioned but not discussed in detail. Whenever this happens the course refers you to the relevant publication just in case you run into the topic discussed. This approach will make the course a good reference to have available once I get into actual tax preparation. Hopefully when you hear from me next week, I will be nearing the end of the course.
